Father daughter camping trip!
Why: We want to invest in our kids and let them know we love them and they are loved by God.
Todd VanFleet’s why:
“This will be a weekend we will all remember forever. My heart behind this is to capture the spirit of intentional fatherhood. I want to specifically hone in on the Father/Daughter relationships we are building with our girls.”
What it takes:
As a mom, seeing the value and supporting the trip in any way possible.
A PLACE: location to camp. A place for each dad & daughter to sleep. They had a cabin, pop-ups, trailers, tents…
A DATE: choose a weekend
AN INVITE: invite some dads and daughters
A FOOD PLAN: BYO lunch & snacks. Divide out breakfast, dinner & dessert.
Ideas: breakfast: doughnuts, bagels & cream cheese, breakfast burritos
dinner: hot dogs & burgers, shredded chicken for BBQ chicken & buns
A PACKING LIST: don’t forget games. Anything that sounds fun!
A PURPOSE: take time to bless the girls. Set time for each dad to tell their daughters the good they see in them.
ACTIVITIES: canoeing, hiking, archery, s’mores, building a fire, fishing, read, relax, corn hole. Encourage dads to bring up anything they have that’s fun!
A GIFT: Dads give your daughter a necklace or something to remember this trip!
A worth it necklace! Or a necklace with a mountain on it would be awesome!
