Holy Smokes! Mailee Severn heads to ?? Uganda on March 16th and is home March 25th.
So as her mama I’m wondering if you will join us in praying for her team & her trip?
I asked her what to pray & she said this song keeps coming to mind, you can listen to it here:
As you know Mai loves to sing & worship is one beautiful way she connects with God. I love this, could you listen to this song over the next month & lift these kids up?
Growing up & into my adult life I have had the joy of traveling the world & making friends across every cultural line, it changed me for good. Not everyone on this team is fully funded. I created a shirt with the help of my buddy Todd Van Fleet to help contribute to this trip for all the students.
The shirt is called Heart for ?? Uganda. It’s $25 all proceeds will go to this Uganda team. It will be spread throughout the team to help everyone! As you wear this shirt it will be a sweet reminder to pray for our friends in Uganda & this team too. ALL SHIRTS MUST BE ORDERED BY WEDNESDAY at NOON.
BUY more than 1 shirt use coupon code: UGANDA20 to save $5 per shirt.
The Worth It necklace has brought in $450 towards this ?? Uganda trip! $10 from every necklace sold goes to this trip!
Have you been to Uganda or like me hope to go one day? I have never been, but I have some people I love there. ?
A shirt can help a few families out, but I hope it will remind you of this big beautiful world we live in. We cannot all GO, but I have always found it to be my JOY to partner with my friends as they get to experience new friends in new places & see God at work around the world.
Here is a note from miss Mailee:
Every year at my school, Cornerstone Christian Academy, the whole high school participates in an event called Go Week. The high school takes two weeks off for spring break, instead of the usual one week. We have the opportunity, during this extra week, to go, along with our classmates and peers, on one of three mission trips. This year I am so excited to say I will be a part of the Uganda team. Me and six other students, along with four amazing chaperones, will be packing our bags in a few weeks to head overseas. I am so excited, to say the least.
One of the girls on the trip encouraged me to come with her this year. She went last year on the 2018 trip and she convinced me to come along with her for the 2019 trip. There is so many cool opportunities we will have on this trip, things I will never be able to do here. Things like going into villages and performing skits that point to Jesus, leading worship to kids, volunteering with several organizations, attending church services that are highly different from the ones here, safaris and so much more. There is so much excitement around going on this trip. We, my team and I, have had several team meetings and training, and with every session, the eagerness to go continues to bubble up.
However, along with all this excitement there is also a fresh amount of fear festering. This is a new country with new people, new diseases, and new atmospheres. A lot will of what I will be seeing will be unknown, and that scares me. A lot. I don’t know what God will show me on this trip. I don’t know how he is going to impact me. I don’t know how the chemistry of my team will hold up. I don’t know how our team dynamics will be. The diseases. The orphaned children. The animals. There are so many unknowns and feats that keep coming into my head. My anxiety is very high with all of this.
Prayer is powerful. I have a few crazy stories to prove that this is true. If you ever need a laugh, ask me about these prayer stories. But, right now I am asking for support in prayer. I leave on March 16th and get back March 25th, so during this week and before, it would mean a so much to me if you could surround me and my team with prayer. Specifically please pray for these things:
An amazing group dynamic, with little arguing and conflict
Against the devil and his various attacks
Health for our whole team
All the fears and anxiety to be settled and replaced with peace
Wisdom for our various leaders and the people we will be working for
A lasting impact
God’s will to be done
Patience with frustrating people
That God will be with us
Pure joy to be radiated
Lots of smiles
So here I am. One sixteen year old girl, on her way to Uganda for the first, and hopefully not last, time. I count on your prayers and thank you all so much for continually supporting me through thick and thin. Love you all so much! Pumped to see what God will do in these upcoming weeks.
With all the love,
